It's so cool. I've played with it twice now…and it's simply amazing. I'm getting mine in 2 years….as soon as my contract is done with Verizon.
it says you can have all the features using a hotspot also if you don't have an AT&T contract.
In fact, when they sell you the phone, you just buy the device, and nothing more.
So, you can't navigate using a "mobile account", but you can do everything (except for calling, I guess) using a WIFI hotspot.
unfortunately you have to activate your phone with AT&T through the internet and iTunes in order to get passed the "emergency calls only" screen. There's another video provided by expotv which is very informative on this whole process.
